KAIKEN WINERY
The Caiquén, a wild goose from Patagonia, embodies a journey that defies borders and conventions as it traverses the majestic Andes mountain range between Argentina and Chile. Following a similar path of exploration and triumph, Aurelio Montes arrived in Argentina in 2000. With each visit, he uncovered the generosity of its vineyards and the fiery passion of its people. By 2001, certainty took hold: Mendoza was the perfect setting to bring Kaiken to life.
The winery was built in 1920 by Italo Calise. In those early days, it also produced olive oil, spirits, and tartaric acid alongside wine.
Today, the winery meets the highest quality standards demanded by contemporary winemaking and has the capacity to produce 7 million litres, stored in fermentation tanks ranging from 12,000 to 30,000 litres—ideal for small batches of exceptional quality—100,000-litre tanks for maturation and concrete vats.
Over the years, Kaiken has cemented its reputation as a winemaking benchmark, blending tradition, innovation, and passion.
